Thank God for Great Neighbors

Yesterday was a yucky day. I woke up and we were under about a foot of snow (no exageration). Normally in the morning, DH gets up and gives the boys breakfast, while I shower, get dressed, get the boys clothes laid out and pack their backpack. Yesterday however,he had to get up and start snowblowing, or we never would have been able to get out of the driveway. Needless to say, it was a very rushed morning.

Then off to work, where I found out that my client is having a PST audit in a couple of weeks, so I had to prep for that. Bleh.

Finally it was time to come home. I just got in the door after picking up the boys at my sister's house and DH walked in too. We decided that him and the boys would play outside in the snow for a while and I would go pick up a pizza for dinner (yes a lazy mother who couldn't bear putting together a healthy meal).

I left (without my coat, because I was only going to be in the car and then in the pizza place and then back again) and went to the pizza place. Started to drive home, and actually made it home with no problems to my neighborhood. Then....my car got stuck in a HUGE snow drift (our street hadn't been plowed yet, despite the fact that we pay a ridiculous $7000 a year in property taxes) and I couldn't get it out. I called DH...but he was outside playing with the twinks. Great. Finally a neighbor came to my rescue. He couldn't get my car out either, so he called my other neighbor, who called his buddy who has a tow truck...and finally they got my car out. YEAH!

Finally I got home, albeit with a cold pizza, and a worried husband, but I got home. I delivered my Thank You cards and bottles of wine this morning to all my wonderful neighbors who didn't mind braving the cold to help me out.

It is so nice to know that I live in a neighborhood where people help people just to be kind. I really love living here (despite the crazy property taxes :)

You sound like a great neighbor too!

And who says pizza isn't healthy? :)
